Nitrates in Groundwater and Farm Income Diversity Seminar @ Green County Justice Center - Multi-Purpose Rooms, Lower Level

NITRATE IN GROUNDWATER

Why does Green County have such high levels of nitrate? Does it come from manure, commercial fer-tilizer, or something else? How can we lower our nitrate levels? Would cover crops help?

Kevin Masarik, Groundwater Education Specialist

DIVERSIFY YOUR FARM INCOME

This presentation will include a discussion on how to make more farm income but not the traditional way. Are there different crops we can be growing to make us more profitable? Is there a local need for cover crop seed or other specialty crops?

Gene Schriefer, Iowa County UW-Extension Agriculture Educator
